    Inbound sales

Inbound sales is selling to people who have already shown interest, for example by filling out a form, downloading content, or asking for a demo, so the conversation starts at their request.

Inbound sales begins with the buyer's action. A visitor reads your content, signs up, or asks a question, and a seller follows up on that expressed interest. Because the contact is invited, the first message can be more direct and helpful.

The challenge is speed and fit. Interested people expect a fast, relevant response, and not every inquiry is a good match. Qualifying who is worth a call is a core part of the work.

Inbound relies on attracting attention through content, search, referrals, and reputation, which takes time to build. Many teams combine it with outbound outreach to reach accounts that are not yet looking.

    Common questions

Does inbound sales need outbound too?

Many teams use both. Inbound captures people already looking, while outbound reaches those who are not yet aware of you.

How fast should you respond to an inbound lead?

As quickly as you reasonably can. Speed is often a major factor in whether interest turns into a conversation.
