    Qualified lead

A qualified lead is a prospect who has been checked against your criteria, such as fit, need, and interest, and judged worth a real sales conversation.

Not every contact is worth a sales call. Qualification is the filter: does the company match your ideal customer profile, does the person have a relevant role, and have they shown a need or interest?

Each team sets its own criteria. Some use a checklist, others a score. What matters is that the definition is written down and shared so sales and marketing agree on what counts. Without it, the handoff produces arguments and wasted meetings.

In outreach, a positive reply from a well-fitting person is a common route to a qualified lead. Reading and sorting replies is part of this, and an AI inbox that ranks replies can help surface the likeliest ones first.

    Common questions

Who decides if a lead is qualified?

Your team, using criteria you define in advance. The definition should be shared by everyone who hands off or receives leads.

Is a reply enough to make a lead qualified?

Not always. The reply should show interest and the person should also fit your target profile.
