    Buying signals

Buying signals are observable events that suggest a person or company may be ready to buy, such as a new role, a hiring push, funding news, or engagement with your content.

Signals give you a reason to reach out now rather than at random. A new head of sales may be rethinking tools; a company hiring many reps may be scaling outreach; a prospect who visits your pricing page may be comparing options.

Signals come from public information, your own site and email activity, and the replies people send. A reply that asks about pricing or timing is itself a strong signal and worth answering quickly.

Treat signals as hints rather than proof. A good signal makes your message more relevant, and it should be mentioned truthfully. Sophia, FollowArc's agent, ranks replies by intent so likely buyers surface first.

    Common questions

What are examples of buying signals?

A job change, hiring for relevant roles, funding news, asking about pricing, or engaging repeatedly with your content.

Is a buying signal the same as a qualified lead?

No. A signal suggests timing, but you still need to confirm fit and interest.
