    Withdraw invitation

Withdrawing an invitation means canceling a LinkedIn connection request that has not been accepted. Teams do it to clear out old pending requests and keep their account tidy.

You can take back a sent connection request while it is still pending. The recipient is not asked to respond, and the request disappears from your sent list.

It is commonly used on requests that have been unanswered for a long time, so they do not pile up. Many teams set a rule, such as withdrawing after a number of weeks, and apply it on a schedule.

Be aware that withdrawing can affect when you may send another request to the same person, and platform rules on this can change. It is housekeeping, not a growth tactic, and should be done sparingly and thoughtfully alongside daily limits.

    Common questions

Does the person know I withdrew the request?

Generally they are not sent a notice, but behavior can change, so do not rely on it.

    Can I re-send after withdrawing?

LinkedIn may delay re-inviting the same person, and rules can change. Check current behavior before planning around it.
